AFECA hosted the webinar – New Opportunity on Metaverse for MICE Industry on 24th May 2022, which presented the state of the digital industry, different platforms in the events arena and the future of technology affecting MICE in the global marketplace. The webinar also emphasized the importance of adapting to the new technology platforms, applications and solutions to meet the present day needs of MICE stakeholders considering the effect of the pandemic situation and beyond.

Attended by more than 100 attendees from 20 countries/regions, the webinar started with a video message by the AFECA President, Dato’ Vincent Lim who shared on the evolving trend of the MICE industry towards digitalization such as Metaverse. The webinar speaker, Mr. Alvin Wang of HTC introduced the concept of Metaverse and how the MICE industry could make use of this new technology to create unique experience for event attendees. The presentation was followed by an engaging panel discussion with the webinar speaker and three MICE industry experts namely, Dr. Jaruwan Suwannasat from TCEB, Ms. Fareeda Cassumbhoy from PICO Group and Mr. Walter Yeh from iStaging Corp., moderated by Mr. Raghav Khosla, Group Editor at Exhibition Showcase.
