Freeman acquires event tech company Info Salons

2018/04/20

Global experiential marketing agency Freeman has acquired digital technology company Info Salons, a provider of registration and attendee database management solutions. For Freeman, the acquisition will help to simplify the event and show planning processes for clients and integrate Info Salons’ offerings with its large digital database.

“[Following the acquisition], Freeman will look to use [those solutions] as the foundation for other markets,” said Richard Maranville, chief digital officer at Freeman. “Freeman is also investing in data solutions which will be complementary to Info Salons' offerings and will be announced soon.”

Info Salons has worked closely with clients in Asia Pacific and the Middle East, so their clients in the region will also be able to call on Freeman’s 90-odd-year history in the event and brand experience space.

“Customers in the [APAC] region will benefit as we look to extend Freeman’s full range of solutions when we combine the companies together,” Maranville said.

Info Salons – with a portfolio spanning 30 years – crafts event tech solutions that aim to improve online and on-site registration processes and unlock valuable attendee data and sales leads for show organisers.

The company has assisted clients with on-site registration, exhibitor lead tracking, organising smart events, business intelligence reporting, and mobile solutions. Late last year, CEO Jo-Anne Kelleway picked up an award at the EEAA Awards in the Best Innovation in Event Tech category for work on Konduko’s Near-field Communication (NFC) engagement platform.

Launched at AIME in February last year, the product connected attendee name badges with the platform and provided improved end-to-end customer experiences. Since then, Info Salons has upped its attendee engagement levels.
