30 October 2018, Korea: Celebrating 13th year of AFECA, its Annual General Meeting (AGM) was
held with the support of The Host, Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX), The Co-Host,
Association of Korean Exhibition Industries (AKEI), and the honorable support from Goyang
Convention Bureau and Gyeonggi MICE Bureau. AFECA AGM and its event were held under the
bright lights in Goyang City, recognizing the best performers in Asia’s MICE industry.

AFECA Asian Awards was designed to recognize outstanding members and individuals for its
contributions. With its Presentation & Gala Dinner taken place at KINTEX on 24 October, the AFECA
Board members including President Walter Yeh, Honorary President Dilys Yong and Past Chairmen
& Honorary Advisor of AKEI, Mr Honggyu Lee were on hand to witness the ceremony and present
the awards to their respective winners.

This year marks the 4th AFECA Asian Awards, a total of 35 nominees representing 9 Asian
countries/regions were received. All nominees represent outstanding performance in the Asian
MICE industry, and showcase the excellence of progress of MICE industry for the past year. 19
Awards were handed out for Outstanding Trade Exhibition, Outstanding Consumer Exhibition,
Outstanding Convention/Congress Award, Outstanding Service Award, Outstanding Venue Award,
and the Young Professional Award.
