Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 2 (TaiNEX 2), an expansion project invested by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and operated by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), opens its door on March 4, 2019. TaiNEX 2’s first exhibition is one of the prominent international trade shows─Taipei International Machine Tool Show (TIMTOS 2019), the world’s 3rd and Asian’s 2nd largest machine tool show!

TaiNEX 2 is the first exhibition hall awarded the “Golden-Level Green Building Label” in Taiwan. It offers 156,700 sqm floor space to accommodate 32,000 visitors for exhibitions, conferences, business meetings and events with convenient transportation connected to two metro lines. 1,296 parking space, show grounds with 12-meter ceiling height on 1st floor and 9-meter ceiling height on 4th floor are the features of TaiNEX 2 to attract event organizers to use.

The multifunctional conference hall on the 7th floor, will be opened in November this year. It is in conjunction with 6,100 sqm outdoor sky garden space where one can see Taipei 101. It will certainly be an attracting feature for professional conference organizers to book their events. For example, Rotary International Convention in 2021 will be held at both TaiNEX 1 and TaiNEX 2.
TaiNEX 1 and TaiNEX 2 are expected to become the core venues of Taiwan’s MICE industry, as well as one of the major convention and exhibition centers in Asia. The total capacity of these two halls hold more than 5,000 booths and 38 meeting rooms. Because of TaiNEX 2 providing more exhibition space, the scale of TIMTOS 2019 expands to 7,000 booths, nearly 30% increase and a record high in TIMTOS show history. More Taiwan International trade shows such as the Taipei Cycle Show and Computex Show will also benefit from the opening of TaiNEX 2 in expanding their exhibition scale.

TaiNEX 2’s sparkling roof is designed to symbolize ocean waves, in keeping with the nautical theme of TaiNEX 1’s rooftop which resembles a ship’s mast. TaiNEX 1 and TaiNEX 2 look forward to working together with the MICE industry to sail onto new international MICE markets and to elevate the ranking of Taiwan’s MICE activities in Asia-Pacific region.
