The newly elected TICA Board of Directors held its first meeting on Thursday, 2 May 2019 at The JW Marriott Bangkok Hotel to elect key executive members of the association whereby Mr. Sumate Sudasna has been re-elected TICA President for the sixth consecutive term.

Mr. Sumate, Managing Director of Conference & Destination Management (CDM), was elected unanimously by TICA’s 42-member Board of Directors whose term of office is 2019-2020. Executive Committee officers were also subsequently elected.

In recent years TICA has evolved into a truly member-driven association with extensive and comprehensive engagement of member representatives who selflessly contribute time and skills amongst the ExCom which includes 4 Vice Presidents. Secretary General, Treasurer and three sub-committees, namely Capacity Development, Marketing and Membership and Public Relations. The ExCom is the true core mechanism of the vibrant association and is an ideal mix of members from a cross section of disciplines in the industry.

The board reaffirmed TICA’s vision as follows:
- To be the primary point of contact for the MICE or Business Events industry in Thailand
- To be recognized as a leading MICE association globally
- To improve Thailand’s ranking as a MICE destination in Asia Pacific
