Taiwan MICE Practitioners Win Many Awards at the 11th AFECA AGM

The Asian Federation of Exhibition & Convention Associations (AFECA), Asia’s largest organization for the exhibition and meeting industry, held its 11th Annual General Meeting in Xiamen from November 7 to 8, 2016. Winners of the 2016 AFECA Awards and Asia MICE Youth Challenge were announced, of which many were from Taiwan's MICE industry.
Regarding winners of the AFECA Awards, COMPUTEX TAIPEI won 1st place in the Outstanding Trade Exhibition category, Kuei Jung Exhibition Co. won 2nd place in the Outstanding Consumer Exhibition category for Marvel Heroes 2016, and Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center was awarded 2nd Place in the Outstanding Venue category. In addition, Ms. Celia Chung from Chan Chao Int’l Co., who competed for the Young Professional Award under the recommendation of the Taiwan Exhibition & Convention Association, was honored with a 2nd place win.
At the AFECA Asia MICE Youth Challenge two Taiwanese teams placed in the top three: Chihlee University of Technology won 2nd Place and Takming University of Science and Technology was 3rd. First place went to Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
TAITRA’s Executive Vice President Walter Yeh was re-elected as AFECA President. He pointed out that the number of both participants and cases for the AFECA Awards and Asia MICE Youth Challenge 2016 grew tremendously, and expressed his gratitude to all Asian countries for their overwhelming support. In the future AFECA will pursue “To Learn, To Collaborate, To Share, and To Support” as the objective of their next stage, and also enhance interactions with European and American MICE organizations to promote the common development and collaborations among Asian MICE segments.
