AFECA Asia MICE Youth Challenge 2017 continues to engage students across Asia to shine and inspire
August 2017, Taipei: The Asian Federation of Exhibition and Convention Associations (AFECA) will enter its third staging of its AFECA Asia MICE Youth Challenge 2017 on 6 September 2017 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
Aimed at developing young, raw talent in the meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions industry in Asia, AFECA Asia MICE Youth Challenge 2017, with 13 participating teams representing 7 Asian countries/regions, is the industry-championed platform organized to showcase the innovative thinking, strategic approach and creative execution of students majoring in MICE, Business Events, Business Management, Hospitality and Tourism fields.
Student teams from distinguished universities and educational institutions will vie for the honor of having the most attractive, effective and strategic business plan to convince the judges that their country/region is the ideal MICE destination in Asia.
AFECA Asia MICE Youth Challenge 2017 will be held at Kaohsiung Exhibition Center (KEC) concurrently with the Asian MICE Forum, which is organized by the co-host this year, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), combined as a grand MICE event of the year.
“This Asian MICE Youth competition provides an optimal stage for students to apply what they have learnt in schools to actual business practice,” said Ms. Rosalind Ng, Chairperson of the Organising Committee. “I believe through collaborating with one another and working as a team to develop an innovative MICE event representing their country, the best will be delivered to amaze the audience and judges with their novel ideas in organizing MICE events.
Mr Walter Yeh, President of AFECA also expressed his anticipation for the competition. “The millennial generation is the core of the industry. These digital natives like things to be immediate, interactive, engaging, feedback-oriented, and customized. I anticipate being stunned by their ingenious presentations.
The countries/regions represented this year are Hong Kong, Japan, Macao, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
The winning team will receive a Champion trophy, certificates for each team member and US$2,000. First and second runners up will each receive a trophy, certificates and US$1,000 and US$500 respectively. What’s more, this year 5 more award categories are added to further encourage the hard work and achievement of the participating teams.
